Don't forget to check out Colorado Runner Magazine, the state's only running magazine.

The main reason for this blog is to keep you updated on my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states. After each marathon, I will post my race report here. This will give you a little more insight into the event in case you are looking for a marathon to train for.

I will also keep you posted on how my training is going.

Thanks for reading!

I felt good for the first 2M, then my left calf had a sharp pain in it. I slowed down and was able to run all the way back. I think I am going to have to stretch the crap out of it to help it heal.

My calf started to hurt about 1.3M into the run. I stopped and stretched it out, but could only make it 3M before I started to feel in again. So, I stopped. I tried using a hot pack on my calf before running to see if that would loosen it up at all, but I don't think it helped. I need to stretch, ice and massage it like crazy if I want it to get any better.

I only made it 2M today before my calf started hurting. This is really starting to piss me off. It just seems like one thing after another. It has been since Nov 10th since I have run 7M in one run. I believe I am going to have to rest this for a week or two to let it totally heal and then start over again, but may at 3M every other day instead of every day. I will plan on seeing Dr. Clark again on Friday. Damn it!! This is so frustrating!

My friend John is going to send me an email with some exercises that he found that are supposed to eliminate all injuries below the knee. He says they only take 5 minutes/day. Hopefully they work. It can't hurt to try if it only takes 5 minutes a day.

I went to see Dr. Clark again today. She seems to think that scar tissue from the original tear in my soleus is stuck to the gastroc. That is why the pain is in a different place now. She do a lot of work on it and then told me to test it tomorrow. I also am scheduled to go back next Friday.
