I ran the loop at Greenland today as I was setting out the signs for tomorrow's race. I didn't want to run 8M, but I really had no choice as it was too wet to ride the loop. Plus, I knew that i wouldn't run tomorrow because of the race (or probably Sunday for that matter). So I thought it would be better to go a bit longer today as long as my leg didn't start to hurt.
I felt pretty good for he first 3 miles or so, but after that, the long climb started to get to me, as did the snow and mud still on the trail. I was stopping every once in a while to snap a photo of the course or to put out the arrow signs, but not for very long at each place.
Once I crested the saddle at 5M, I felt fine running back to the shelter. I didn't have any problems with my leg at all, just lack of fitness taking its toll. I usually run this loop in just over an hour on an easy run, so I definitely took it very easy today.
I will most likely by on my feet all day tomorrow, so I will not be running my normal Saturday/Sunday combo this week. I probably will have no desire to run on Sunday either, since we will need to unload everything and get the Uhaul trailer back on Sunday. So I will resume my running on Tuesday, which should give me ample recovery from this run and the race on Saturday.

Week Total: 23 Miles / 3:15:39 (8:29 pace)
This was a good week for me, especially since I did 8 miles on Friday!
Don't forget to check out Colorado Runner Magazine, the state's only running magazine.
The main reason for this blog is to keep you updated on my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states. After each marathon, I will post my race report here. This will give you a little more insight into the event in case you are looking for a marathon to train for.
I will also keep you posted on how my training is going.
Thanks for reading!
