Don't forget to check out Colorado Runner Magazine, the state's only running magazine.

The main reason for this blog is to keep you updated on my quest to run a marathon in all 50 states. After each marathon, I will post my race report here. This will give you a little more insight into the event in case you are looking for a marathon to train for.

I will also keep you posted on how my training is going.

Thanks for reading!

I started running again today. I was only going to go 2M, but because I had no pain at all in my calf, I went 3M. I have decided I am only going to run 4 days a week (Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat) to give my leg a rest day in between. That will make Sat and Sun the only back to back day. If I can go a few weeks like this w/o pain, then I will start to add a very short 3M run on the off days. Let's cross our fingers that i can get back into again since the trails have dried out near the house!

I had no pain in my calf today, but it was a little tight, so I stretched it like crazy after the run (along with everything else). My wife has suggested I start a stretching routine after every run since I have pulled so many muscles in the last few months.

I think I may have found a better way to ease back into things. Take M,W,F off hopefully will allow me to get back into running without getting hurt again. I have also started a stretching routine that takes about 15 minutes. I am trying to do it every day and on the days I run i am doing it right after running. On M,W,F I am also going to the gym and either doing a core class on the ball or lifting weights. I might add a bike ride at the gym if I don't do the core class, just to help increase my aerobic capacity, since it is so poor right now.
